| The most advanced security technology on the web: |
|
Esotera leap-frogs conventional file-server thinking. Imagine each of your data files encrypted and chopped into small blocks and then stored
on different servers across the continent. Click here for an illustration. Think about how hard it would be for someone to search through billions of blocks on different
servers to reassemble a file without knowing where to look. This is the basis of a new class of data storage technology that is equal to the threats of faster silicon and quantum computing. We offer the best possible data security available on the Internet today. |
| Access your data from anywhere but in total privacy: |
|
Esotera provides you with an electronic keychain. It's a set of encryption codes stored in fragments across the Internet that can only be opened by
the answers to Challenge Questions known only to you. You can open your keychain and see all of your files from any computing device on the Internet. When you are finished, those files are not left behind. It's as if you had never used that device - no one can get into your files. Access from anywhere: home, the office, a hotel, with no fear of your files being compromised. |
| Computer Upgrades and Replacement don't affect Esotera |
|
The Esotera file system is completely independent of the computer you use. That means that there are no files to manually copy when you retire that older computer. You don't need perform a complicated restore operation either. All you need to do is visit a web site which will install all the files necessary to resume access on your new machine. Just enter your Challenge Question answers and you're all set. This is the technology you need when today's PC is replaced with tomorrow's computers embedded in all of your appliances. |
| Protection from viruses |
|
The Esotera file system deliberately does not expose drive (such as D: or E:, etc.) in your Windows 'Computer' list. The only way to
operate on files is through Esotera 'InfiniDrive' client that pops up when you open the web shortcut.
InfiniDrive looks and feels like your Windows File Explorer (or MacOS Finder). You use the mouse to interact with your
files, either to open them with double-clicks, drag & drop them or use the copy/paste menus. Viruses that might be running on your computer cannot access the Esotera file system. They cannot affect your files. |
| Data Loss: Safety in numbers and geography |
|
The unique architecture of the Esotera file system does a better job of protecting your files from loss than conventional technology. Esotera breaks your files into equally sized encrypted blocks which are stored in three geographically separated locations. Should a server containing a block of your file break down or become disconnected, a new server is immediately commissioned and the blocks replicated from the active servers. This ensures that the three copies for each block are maintained for all files - with no interruption in service. In contrast, conventional solutions place your complete files in special facilities and perform backups to magnetic tape. A major disaster could wipe out such a data center and require days or weeks to recover. Go with a modern solution for your data. |
| New ways to visualize your data |
|
The current paradigm for viewing files was created at the Xerox Palo Alto center in 1975. It based on a desktop metaphor where 2D documents
stack on a desktop and a hierarchical file system of directories with unique names. It works, but we are experimenting with new approaches
to make your data life easier. Imagine a 3D environment, not unlike a computer game, in which you zoom around a Room which represents a directory. Documents are organized on the walls and 3D objects are on the floor. Moving through a door takes you to a new Room (another directory) with its own documents and objects. These doors potentially take you to anyone's Room, so you are actually moving throughout a global data space, not just your own files. Come experience the future with us. |
| New computing devices for your data |
|
The Esotera file system and the InfiniDrive client were written in a computer language called 'Java' designed by SUN Microsystems
(now part of Oracle) in 1995. This language was designed to be independent of the computer on which it runs (this is our strategy, too)
and, in fact, Java programs run on more than PC's and servers; they run on cell phones, set-top boxes (PVRs) and variety of other devices. Java technology will allow the Esotera file system to appear on the myriad of computing devices in your future to provide secure access to your own data and preferences. Why shouldn't your refrigerator tell your cell phone what foods are present? |
| The Monetization of Content |
|
You might not see yourself as a digital author. You may suspect that most YouTube videos have very little value. But the tools for
photography, video editing, fictional/non-fictional writing and 3D modelling continue to improve. We believe that the time will
come when many will free lance their digital skills to produce extra revenue. The large audience of the Internet will permit
low prices to yield significant total revenues. The Esotera file system has the hooks to allow the monetization of digital content by attaching value and providing the searching tools to make that content visible to those who would wish to pay for the effort made by others. Invest in your future. Store your data securely with our advanced technology. |
| Two-Factor Authentication |
|
The Esotera file system is protected by a username, password and a set of Challenge Questions. A two-factor authentication scheme complements the facts (that you 'know') with the presence of something else (that you 'have') to increase the level of security. Esotera optionally allows three types of two-factor authenication.
